Some projects ask music to follow the picture.
This one asked the picture to follow the music.
In collaboration with Celeste Barber and Woolworths, MOK Music delivered a fully original hero track to support the launch of Booie Beauty—a campaign that leaned unapologetically into humour, performance, and personality.
Working alongside music production agency Electric Sheep Music (ESM), who partnered directly with the client, MOK Music was engaged for end-to-end composition and production. From the first note to final delivery, the brief was clear: this track needed to be bold, playful, and unmistakably confident—just like the brand it was launching.
The creative direction called for something unexpected.
A cabaret-inspired sound, threaded with jazz sensibilities. Playful but polished. Expressive without tipping into parody.
Rather than treating the music as a layer to be added later, the decision was made to flip the process entirely. The track was composed and delivered before the commercial was shot. This meant choreography, movement, and performance could be built directly from the rhythm and energy of the music itself.
For Celeste Barber, the result was freedom. The ability to move in time with the track from the outset gave the performance an immediacy and confidence that can’t be retrofitted in post. The music didn’t just support the visuals—it led them.
Alongside the hero composition, MOK Music was also tasked with adapting the iconic Woolworths sonic sting. The challenge was subtle but significant: reshape a well-known brand cue so it sat naturally within a cabaret jazz world, while remaining instantly recognisable.
The result was a seamless blend—familiar, but refreshed. A sonic bridge between Woolworths’ established identity and the playful, theatrical tone of Booie Beauty.
Produced by Harry Sayers, the project demanded both creative sensitivity and technical precision. Every detail mattered. Tempo, instrumentation, tone, timing. It was a balancing act between brand integrity and creative risk—and one that paid off.
This collaboration is a reflection of what MOK Music values most.
Trust. Play. Craft. And the belief that sound can shape the entire creative process when it’s given room to lead.
Working with a brand as established as Woolworths, alongside a cultural force like Celeste Barber, required confidence in the work and respect for the moment. It’s a project that celebrates collaboration across disciplines—and one we’re incredibly proud to have been part of.
Sometimes the best way forward is to let the music go first.
